Must my child wear a complete uniform?
Yes your child must be in a complete uniform everyday. Our school has a required uniform of the following:

Boys

  • A light blue collared shirt
  • Navy blue tailored pants
  • White or navy blue socks
  • Navy blue rubber-soled shoes
  • Navy blue plaid tie/solid navy blue tie
  • No earrings
  • No sneakers or helios

Girls

  • A light blue blouse
  • Navy blue jumper (kindergarten & 1 st grade only)
  • Tailored navy blue pants or skirt
  • Navy blue rubber-soled shoes
  • Navy blue plaid criss-cross tie/ solid navy criss-cross blue tie
  • No sneakers or helios

Special Notes: Children in kindergarten and first grade must have a change of clothes. Clothes must be labeled with child's names.

How do I register my child ?
You can call the school to request an application sent you your house. We cannot fax applications because you need the original document to be mailed to our NYC office. You can also pick up the application at our school during regular schools hours. After you have received the application you are to send the completed form to the NYC address at the bottom of the application. When you send in the application your child is entered into our lottery system.

What is the lottery system?
A public lottery is held for enrollment, if you are chose you will receive notice with in the week of the lottery. If you are not chosen your name will be entered onto a waiting list.

What documents are needed to register my child?
The following documentation is needed to register your child:

  • Current immunization status including recent physical
  • Current utility bill (no cell phone bills or credit card bills)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Recent report car/ progress report

Do you have an after school program?
We do not have an after school program on a regular basis however, at certain times during the year we offer enrichment /remedial classes after school for those who need extra help as well as that extra push. We also offer a Saturday academy for 3 rd and 4 th grade students in preparation for the state tests (ELA and Math).

What are your school hours?
Our School hours are from 8:00 AM till 4:00 PM

No student is allowed to be picked up between 3:30 - 4:00 PM. Any irregular pickup must be communicated in writing in advance to the child's teacher.

Do you have bus transportation?
School bus transportation is provided to our students according to the NYC Department of Education Chancellor's Regulations ( A801 ). Students are expected to abide by these regulations stipulated in the document. Students who are designated as within walking distance of the Academy will not receive public transportation. Other students may receive metro cards for bus or subway transportation. Parents should contact the Office of Pupil Transportation for additional assistance. Private bus transportation services are the sole responsibility of the parents.

How do I apply for a job?
If you are interested in joining our family as a staff member please fax your resume and cover letter to (718) 471-7135 and we will gladly set up an interview. ALL teachers must be NYS certified in K-6. ALL teacher assistants must have a NYS Teacher Assistant certification.

What makes a Charter School different than a regular public school?
We are a school of choice, so all children chose to become part of our family. Our curriculum is rigorous and we have an extended day. Our classroom sizes are smaller we have 25 students in each class as well as two adults ( 1 teacher and 1 teacher's assistant). The students are required to wear their school uniform everyday.
